Happy Tuesday!  Another amazing day in the books for our 2020 Grade 1 “superstar learners”. We started something called the “jar of chance”- ask me to tell you about it!

Every week in grade one we will have four sight words to focus on called “Words of the Week”. It is really important that your child practices reading them and spelling them correctly. We will have a poem that corresponds with each of the sight words, which will be posted for your child to practice reading at home.  Be sure to have your child read the poems to you multiple times a week!

Daily Highlights…

 We played on the playground (Vivian)

 We read a poem called Colors (Ava)

 We learned words of the week (Kayleigh)

-We drew self-portraits and started coloring them (Zack. W)

-We had music and gym (Seth)

-We decorated popsicle sticks for the jar of chance (Avianna)

-We had an assembly on the smart board (Ryder)

Important Information& Reminders:

-Please see and fill out the big package of student demographic forms that need to be signed and returned to school

 Don't forget to bring a water bottle and warm clothing EVERY day

-Remember to have a meeting spot for the end of the school day with your parents or whoever is picking you up
